Please Introduce Yourself!

I'm Mayumi Heule, living in Osaka.

Since my student days, I started photography with the desire to preserve moments and sceneries with loved ones as warm memories. Since then, my camera has become a partner that reflects my heart.

I find beauty in the natural elements of daily life and the unguarded appearances of people, cherishing the emotional connection I feel with my subjects in my photographic storytelling.

What Inspired You to Participate?

Until now, I had only shared my photos within a close circle, but I wanted to expand my creative expression. It was during this time that I learned about this event by chance.

Although it was my first photo exhibition, I felt it would be easy to participate, which encouraged me to take the first step.
Additionally, the idea of meeting other creators in person and sharing our thoughts excited me, so I decided to take the plunge and join.

How Was Your Experience Participating?

Who took this photo, and what emotions were behind it?
The time spent engaging with each piece and directly connecting with the creators' feelings—something you can't fully experience online—was incredibly valuable.

There were also opportunities to help with venue preparation and exchange messages with other creators. I was deeply inspired by the wonderful creators with different sensibilities and felt delighted to connect with them directly.

Why Did You Choose This Particular Photo?

The theme was written in hiragana as 'いろ' (color).

It was a photo from a solo trip to Finland, taken when I was emotionally drained, and the world around me seemed to lose its color.

During the Finnish summer, surrounded by abundant light, I traveled freely, and for the first time in a while, I felt my heart stretch its wings and experience a sense of liberation.

Exhibited Work

The sunset sky I saw there was soft and warm, bringing a sense of relief. The sight of seagulls freely flying across the vast sky resonated with my emotions, and I felt the happiness of seeing the world regain its colors.
