They are There
'They are There' is a global online photo contest presented by cizucu, open to all creators registered with cizucu. The contest curates outstanding submissions to discover new talents as a platform and to support the community.
This time, the theme is 'Human Activities.'
A mother cooking in front of you.
A neighbor crouching in the field.
Someone in a suit rushing up the stairs at the station.
In fleeting moments, we realize:
Someone other than ourselves is quietly living their daily life.
It could be the gestures of someone close to you, a fleeting moment of a passerby,
or even just traces or a sense of presence.
The key is to notice that 'They are there.'
Distance and relationships don't matter. By observing these activities,
we might be reminded that we live together with others.
We look forward to your submissions.

People seem visible yet invisible, their names unknown. But they are undeniably 'there,' living their own day. This photo captures a gaze that observes them from a slight distance, reminding us of the presence of others and our connection to them.

The sight of people working silently amidst massive machinery and materials caught my eye. This photo reminds us that cities and societies are built by someone's hands. Even if faces are unseen, there is undoubtedly activity there. It reveals the time and effort layered within scenes we often overlook.

The familiar hands in daily life, the inherited activities—these moments reflect the time someone has nurtured and supported another. Looking at this photo, I naturally thought about the 'they' who might have existed in my own life in such a way.

A monk stands quietly in the landscape, speaking to no one, saying nothing, simply 'being there.' While it seems detached from daily life, it is undeniably part of society and a form of activity. This photo conveys a strong presence, as if the individual’s existence breathes life into the surrounding scenery.

Even without visible people, this photo conveys that someone was there, and life continues. The light on plants, the swaying curtains, the rising steam—all reflect the rhythm of life. This photo captures the overlapping presence of unseen individuals, embedding them into the scenery with a quiet gaze.
