Since late last year, cizucu has been hosting the across various locations in Japan. By simply submitting your photos to cizucu, you can participate in the photo poster exhibition and meet fellow photographers you’ve never encountered before.
This time, we interviewed Yosuke, a creator who participated in the .
Please introduce yourself!
While working as a company employee, I create music videos, wedding profile videos, and brand films.
I started filming because of my love for movies, and one day, I hope to compile my life into a short film.
What motivated you to participate?
Since I had been pursuing video and photography as an extension of my hobbies, I never considered myself a creator. However, I realized that I was avoiding evaluation by labeling it as just a hobby.
I decided to participate because I wanted to step beyond the boundaries of my hobby, embrace the identity of a 'creator,' and confidently move forward in my activities.

How was your experience participating?
Seeing my work displayed gave me such a refreshing feeling. I also felt that the 'barrier to being a creator' was significantly lowered in a positive way.
Additionally, while photographers often find it challenging to build connections, participating allowed me to easily interact and exchange ideas with others, which was an incredibly valuable experience.
Why did you choose that particular photo?
I’m drawn to the space created by contrasting elements like 'rigidity' and 'fun.' This photo was taken during a trip to Naoshima with my partner, and I felt it captured a coexistence of 'ephemerality' and 'beauty,' which is why I chose it.

The deliberate blurring of focus was inspired by Hiroshi Sugimoto’s works, which I saw during the same trip to Naoshima.
A message for those considering joining the photo poster project
If you want to take a step forward as a creator or connect with others as a photographer, I highly recommend joining!
There are plenty of opportunities to interact, such as gallery talks, talk cards, and support from the organizers, making it a very welcoming space to engage with others!
