Mission
Are you familiar with the English term "bokeh"? This word refers to the aesthetic quality found in the out-of-focus areas rendered by a lens—a technique that intentionally embraces blur as an expressive element. "Bokeh" is now a universal term in the photographic lexicon, originating from the Japanese word "ボケ". It is said that the term "bokeh" first appeared in Western photography magazines in the 1990s to describe the character of lens blur, and since then, it has become an established concept in the world of photography. This time, we invite you to explore "bokeh"—a phenomenon that Japanese photographers have long appreciated and refined. Whether it’s foreground bokeh, background bokeh, circular bokeh, or swirling bokeh, all techniques are welcome. Capture your unique motif, in your own rhythm, through your lens. We look forward to seeing your interpretation of "bokeh". -- *Submissions that violate our guidelines ( https://www.cizucu.com/terms/guideline ) will not be considered by the curatorial team.* *Prize recipients may be contacted by the cizucu team to confirm personal information such as address.*
