Film Camera / cy-mount / CONTAX 一眼レフ

520g

The CONTAX 159MM is the first multi-mode (MM) SLR to bring three program modes (Normal, High Speed, and Low Speed) to CONTAX SLRs, which previously offered only aperture-priority AE and manual modes. With a maximum shutter speed of 1/4000 sec. and a flash sync speed of 1/250 sec., it is a high-performance camera suited to a wide range of photographers, from beginners to advanced users. It is also lightweight (520g) and features a comfortable grip.

How to use · This camera can be used with fully manual operation, aperture-priority AE, or three program modes (Normal, High Speed, and Low Speed). To make full use of the program functions, pairing it with Carl Zeiss T* lenses, including MM lenses, is recommended. For continuous shooting, the Contax 159 Winder W-7 can be used.

Watchouts · No specific limitations regarding weight, crop, autofocus, or weather resistance are known. Some reports raise concerns about reliability, while other sources consider it comparable to models from the same generation. The viewfinder’s LED display is robust and less likely to fail than the LCD displays on later models.
