The Zenza Bronica EC-TL is a medium-format SLR camera designed as a system camera for professionals. It offers high compatibility among components such as lenses, viewfinders, focusing screens, and film backs, while its built-in TTL metering system enables fully automatic exposure operation. At the same time, it provides the complete manual override required by professional users. Released in 1975, the EC-TL was the first medium-format 6x6 SLR camera with a built-in TTL meter featuring aperture-priority AE.

How to use · The film back can be attached without worrying about synchronizing it with the body. The film loads fully automatically, without adjusting the start mark. To remove the film back, take the dark slide out of its pocket and insert it fully into the slot; the lock is released automatically. When changing the film back, there is no need to worry about the state of the shutter or film back. After changing it, simply turn the film-winding knob to synchronize it automatically.

Watchouts · The mirror mechanism is extremely loud, producing a substantial noise when the shutter is released. When the mirror is locked up, exposure cannot be metered because the exposure meter cell is behind the reflex mirror. Manual exposure operation is mandatory with the mirror locked up. When using the waist-level finder, the metering LED may be difficult to read in sunlight. Light entering the finder may also affect metering. At approximately 2,141g (4 lb 11½ oz) with the basic finder, 75mm f/2.8 lens, and film loaded, it is extremely heavy; carrying it around your neck quickly becomes uncomfortable, while carrying it by hand is an arm workout.
