Subject : Among the Ropes Camera : Nikon F80 Lens : Nikkor 50mm F1.8 Film : Kodak ColorPlus 200 The harbor is filled with things made for work. Heavy ropes, floats, nets, and equipment are piled together, waiting to be used again. And in the middle of all of it, someone stops beside a bicycle. For a moment, the scale of the harbor changes. What usually looks like an industrial landscape becomes something much more ordinary — a place where people stop, prepare, carry things, and move on with their day. The ropes may belong to ships, and the floats may belong to the sea, but the harbor itself also belongs to the people who pass through it every day. Nothing dramatic is happening here. Just a person, a bicycle, and the tools of the harbor. But perhaps that is exactly what makes the scene worth remembering.
