Only a narrow opening remains, and through it the late afternoon light reaches the water. The city beyond is still visible, but for a moment it feels distant. Buildings, roads, and the harbor seem to disappear behind the dark structure above, leaving only the movement of the sea and the reflection of the sun. The water never stays still. Each wave catches the light for a second, then loses it again. Perhaps that is what made this scene feel different from the rest of the harbor. Nothing here was waiting to be photographed. The bridge remained where it was, the tide continued to move, and the sun was already on its way down. I simply happened to be there when the light found its way underneath.
