          <title><![CDATA[This photograph marks the first friendship I made on my first trip to Japan. This is Ujiie Yoshihiro, owner of Black Sun Jazz Club in Kabukicho, Shinjuku. On my first evening in Shinjuku, I stumbled into his bar by chance. From our very first interaction, it became my local—somewhere I returned to every day. I took his portrait that first night, and it meant so much to him that when I returned to Japan, I made a second portrait. This image will always remind me of the warmth and kindness I experienced in a place I knew nothing about, completely on my own. I always admired Hiro’s pride in his work and the camaraderie he created around him. Hiro, as he likes to be called, welcomed me in on my first night and unknowingly gave me a place to belong.           <title><![CDATA[【intersection】  そこはあらゆる事物が”交差”する場所。  目の前を走る車のように、時の流れは早く過ぎ去って行く。  右から左へ、左から右へ。 向こうからこっちへ、こっちから向こうへ。  忙しなく動き続ける中で、一度立ち止まると見えてくるもの。  電柱が細くヒビが入った木であること。 信号に鳥の糞がかかり、標識にシールが貼ってあること。 奥の建物に、おそらく乾かし中の婦人服がかかっていること。  それは視野を広げて、物事の更に奥を覗こうとする勇気。  この交差点で止まった１分の間、涼む為に開けた窓から生ぬるい風が入ってきて額の汗が掌にぽつりと落ちた。 | Sota Koizumi]]></title>
