I’ve always been interested in pushing the vertical format on social media — seeing how much story I could fit into a small rectangle. Around 2019, I started blending different images together, mostly out of instinct. I wasn’t trying to say anything specific. I was just experimenting, chasing energy, and making work that felt exciting. When I looked at this image, it made me remember a version of myself I hadn’t thought about in a while. Someone younger, reckless with energy, shooting almost every other weekend, posting constantly, chasing progress and social credit without questioning it. This image feels like those two versions existing at the same time. Not a before and after, but an overlap. It made me wonder if we forget how foolishly passionate we once were about the things we’re still doing every day. | Don Lim

A machine in motion – but never just about speed. This frame was created as part of 'THE CAR IS NOT THE SUBJECT', a campaign initiative for the rebrad launch of TSX Media – one that explores what exists beyond the surface, the person behind the drive, the weigh they carry and the quiet moments between them. Presented for exhibition with PPP, this piece became more than just an image. It became a meeting point – where automotive enthusiasts and first-time viewers stepped into the same space, seeing the culture not just for what it looks like, but for what it feels like. The late night drives. Unspoken moments. And the shared understanding between strangers who somehow feel the same thing on the road. This roller shot captures one of those moments – movement, control and everything carried in between. As we continue this campaign, the challenge becomes bigger than visuals: How do we make automotive culture more human? More open. More relatable. More felt – even to those outside it? This is just the beginning, from TSX Media's "THE CAR IS NOT THE SUBJECT" campaign – first driver feature <CRAZY HOURS> for Justin Sng. | TSX Media by Tay Sheng Xian

A stylish man seated in front of his shop at a local market in Maubisse, Timor Leste. Virgin exhibitor here. Timor Leste has been a place that's close to my heart since I first travelled there in 2018, and again in 2024. So felt it was only fitting to showcase something from there for my first exhibition 😊 Having gained independence only in 2002, Timor is Asia's youngest country. Inspired after watching John Pilger's documentary 'Death of a Nation: The Timor Conspiracy', I set out in search to better understand how a country is post-war. I solo travelled around Timor for 2 months capturing different stories and lived experiences during the war from Timorese folks, and learnt so much about what happened during, before, and after the war from a local's perspective. It was one of the most eye-opening, truly heartwarming, and utterly heart-wrenching experiences of my life, but what stuck was the wisdom, quiet strength, resilience and beauty of the Timorese which are forever etched in me. This also kick-started my journey towards questioning Western media reportages, biases, and their heavy but not necessarily full-picture influence on us, their global audience. We really do need to hear more voices from within, not just Western perspectives. I hope to encourage opening up convos about Timor Leste, and would love for more people to learn about Asia's youngest country. | Lavita Kala
