The theme of touch is explored through the absence of which, featuring two migrant workers who had left their family behind in hopes of a better life for those back home. The heavy digital noise and film grain is a rejection of the picture of perfection and the normativeness that we grew up believing. I was deeply moved and reflected on Singapore's relationship with foreign labour as well as our sense of ownership towards our own land, which was expressed through this accompanying piece: migrant dreams, they fall on foreign soil, they bow to makeshift thrones, all but to feed our own - our land imagined, where new homes sprout like daily miracles, where love and labour are outpaced by ambition. reservoirs of life that feed the wanderers, migrants and pilgrims, soft pastures that soothe the weary, so foreign now to those dressed in ivory
