In the distance, three people sat quietly on the vast salt flats. Before them stood a mountain range, with the sun slowly descending behind it. Seeing this scene, I instinctively raised my camera and pressed the shutter.  What moved me in that moment was the quiet power of nature, its scale, its stillness, and its beauty.  Standing there, I felt how small we are in comparison, and how many of the worries we carry in daily life fade when placed against something so immense.           <title><![CDATA[“The Wait for the Perfect Sunset” 🌇  There’s something magical about watching the sun meet the sea — especially at the Worli Sea Link. That evening, I stood there with my camera ready, but the shot I wanted wasn’t just any sunset. I wanted the sun exactly at the centre of the bridge.  It sounds simple, but it took patience — a lot of it. I waited as the light kept changing every minute, as the orange turned to gold, then to a soft pink that kissed the horizon. Cars kept rushing by, waves kept breaking below, but I stayed still, focused, watching through my lens.  There were moments when I thought I’d missed it… but then, right when the world seemed to slow down, the sun aligned perfectly between the arches. That single frame — calm sea, glowing sky, and the silhouette of the bridge — made all the waiting worth it.           <title><![CDATA[The Lost Romance and Dances was born from a dream and a place, the Seven Sisters Cliff. I had imagined it for a very long time, and when I finally stood there, the experience felt otherworldly. The sunset unveiled colors I had never seen before, painting the horizon in tones so magical that time itself seemed to pause. As evening dissolved into night, the cliffs transformed. What was once radiant with color became stark, monochrome, almost like the aftertaste of a love once held and suddenly taken away. This place felt alive with memory, a witness to joy, heartbreak, and longing through countless lives that had passed across its edge.  At its heart, The Lost Romance and Dances is a meditation on memory and return. The work drifts like a forgotten tide, carrying back fragments of love, loss, and longing. It is dedicated to those who have loved deeply and lost, who return not to reclaim but to rediscover.           <title><![CDATA[Title: Is this a Phoenix?  Story: How do we visualize a new start? For the 2026 Marina Bay Countdown, I stood at the Helix Bridge watching the sky erupt, but I chose to look for the life hidden within the light.  This vertical poster, "Is this a Phoenix?", is a symmetrical re-imagining of that first midnight of 2026. By mirroring the vibrant rainbow fireworks and stacking the architectural icons of Singapore, a mythical silhouette emerged from the data. To some, it is the 'Sovereign Butterfly'—a regal symbol of grace and the quiet metamorphosis into a new and beautiful life. To others, it is a Phoenix rising, fueled by the explosive energy of the city’s celebration.  I chose this title to invite the community to engage with the 'soul' of the image. Whether you see the delicate wings of a butterfly or the fiery ascent of a phoenix, the essence remains the same: a powerful, vertical rise into a new chapter. This piece marks the beginning of a year where we define our own rebirth, spreading our wings over the foundations of the past to soar into a vibrant 2026. | Victor Zhuo]]></title>

          <title><![CDATA[This photograph was taken in 2019 in South Iceland during a road trip to celebrate turning thirty that year. Back then, it didn’t just mark a birthday, but also a personal milestone, one that was of pausing, reflecting, and choosing to step into a new decade with curiosity and courage. This image wasn’t easy to capture. Iceland is known for its powerful winds, and flying a drone against those winds meant that the drone's battery would drain much more quickly. I quickly realised that flying harder was not the way to go, and that I had to think differently. Instead of forcing my way through the wind, I had to allow the wind to work with me. So I landed the drone, hopped into the car with my friends, and drove nearly two kilometres ahead before launching my drone again, allowing the winds to guide me as I surveyed the landscape. By then, a storm was approaching, and I felt a strong sense of urgency, but I knew I had to stay focused and calm. Then this river stood out amongst the smaller streams, carving its way into the distance. In that moment, I knew I had to find the right composition. After capturing the shot, I felt an immense sense of satisfaction and elation. Not just because I succeeded technically, but because the photograph embodied something deeper. It reminded me to adapt instead of resist, to pause and rethink instead of pushing blindly forward, and that sometimes, working with the forces around us leads to something far more meaningful. | Nicholas]]></title>
