This is one of 21 photos from an amazing failed adventure in the Lake District with my two best friends. Final year of university. Three best friends. No car, no plan, and jackets that lied about being waterproof. The goal? Reach the lake at Lake District National Park. The reality? The best failed attempt. We rented a tiny cabin on the park’s edge and set off like adventurers… who forgot to read the instructions. We marched through sideways rain, squelchy grass, and somehow… a factory? We climbed hills, jumped questionable fences, greeted sheep like old friends, and pretended we knew where we were going. We never made it to the lake. But we did soak our “waterproof” jackets, barbecue in the rain, and laugh until our faces hurt. Sometimes the best trips aren’t about the destination. They’re about soaking wet socks, smoke in your eyes, and that moment when everyone’s laughing too hard to keep walking. I love my friends any trip with them will always be memorable! | Patrick Carlo Bangit

The unwavering glare confronts the viewer directly, asserting strength, presence, and resolve. Paired with floral imagery, the contrast becomes deliberate: delicacy does not diminish power.
that day of play at the pool with 5 adults looking on. Nephew had no cousin to play with as his uncle (me) decided not to have any kids. A somewhat familiar sight in an aging society like Singapore. this was one of the few times he "dived" under as he was still building on his water confidence. Doing much better now! Photo was taken with a sports housing that was acquired due to the appeal of surfing photography - a genre that brings together my love for nature and sports at the same time. But never got to try to date. In the mean time, have always been looking for the opportunity to take half and half shots like these that capture moments in two separate worlds in the same frame. | nothatjon

Photo was taken with a sports housing that was acquired due to the appeal of surfing photography - a genre that brings together my love for nature and sports at the same time. But never got to try to date. In the mean time, have always been looking for the opportunity to take half and half shots like these that capture moments in two separate worlds in the same frame. | nothatjon

“Not all heroes wear capes, some make them” is a photographic project centered on the tailors of Singapore. In a rapidly modernising city, tailoring has quietly become a fading craft, often overlooked and undervalued. Through this series, I hope to draw attention back to these artisans who have spent decades honing their skill. The visual approach focuses on raw, intimate details—the worn textures of an ageing tailoring shop, the quiet stillness of the space, and the lines etched on her face. These elements are not signs of decline, but of experience, resilience, and mastery. Every crease and surface tells a story of time, patience, and dedication to a craft that once held greater prominence. As society shifts toward technology and more “advanced” professions, traditional trades like tailoring risk being forgotten. This project is an attempt to pause, observe, and appreciate the hands that continue to create, repair, and sustain. In doing so, it serves as both a tribute and a gentle call to notice those whose work, though often unseen, has long shaped the fabric of everyday life. | Arthur Liew

The Common Kingfisher may be small, but it is incredibly fast. When it bursts out of the water, it can reach speeds of 40–65 km/h, leaving only a split second to capture the moment. Photographing this instant is extremely challenging. As the bird emerges, water droplets scatter in every direction, often confusing the camera’s autofocus. In this case, the kingfisher was diving into a shaded pocket surrounded by branches, making it even harder for the camera to lock onto the subject instead of the busy background. Shot handheld at 800mm, every movement was magnified while tracking the bird’s unpredictable flight. Interestingly, the kingfisher was not hunting—it was simply diving repeatedly to take a quick shower. After three dives into the same spot, everything aligned for a brief fraction of a second. With the speed and precision of the Sony α1 paired with the reach of the Sony FE 400–800mm lens, I was able to capture the moment—tack sharp as the kingfisher burst out of the water. | thebirdingdude
