Here in urban Singapore, we have the 3rd largest species of deer in world (Sambar deer/Rusa unicolor). They occasionally venture out to areas near roads, to feed on vegetation that grows outside of the secondary forests. Unseen by many, these shy creatures prefer to avoid human encounters as they feed throughout the night. As responsible motorists/cyclists, we can all make an effort to observe a safe speed, while on roads flanking the central catchment area. To me, memory is like these loofah vines: fragile and seasonal, yet stubbornly clinging to the sturdy trunk of home. I realized that Taipei 101 is often the first attraction for many foreigners visiting Taiwan. Therefore, I wanted to showcase the beauty of Taiwan through this photo titled 'Taipei 101 with the Moon.' Above all , I emphasize that none of the elements in this photo have been photoshopped. On the contrary, I specifically researched the position of the moon rising beforehand and visited the location multiple times. That evening, I stood there with my camera ready, but the shot I wanted wasn’t just any sunset. I wanted the sun exactly at the centre of the bridge. It sounds simple, but it took patience — a lot of it. I waited as the light kept changing every minute, as the orange turned to gold, then to a soft pink that kissed the horizon. Cars kept rushing by, waves kept breaking below, but I stayed still, focused, watching through my lens.
