After a full week of work, sport, and house chores, I find incredible happiness in going for a solo exploration of the vegan pastry shops in town. At the counter, I take my time to decide on the dessert that matches my day vibes. Then, when it arrives, I savor every little piece with wonder: what are the ingredients of the sponge, which spices were used, and how is the custard made? I feel lucky and happy to be able to eat a delicious treat that is good for me and for the planet, without hurting the animals. When it is time to leave the shop, I feel recharged with positive vibes, grateful, and ready to take on what the next week has in store for me. We soaked in the festival atmosphere while waiting for the fireworks to start, and feeling the chill, went straight for hot food. What intrigued me most, though, was the long queue for Gelato. Very cold temperatures, and people were still happily lining up for ice cream — now thats a sight. What struck me most about the whole evening was the atmosphere. Hundreds of people gathered in the dark, yet it was completely calm — everyone quietly enjoying their snacks, then tilting their heads skyward in collective appreciation of the fireworks above. This is one of the back streets of central Madrid. Joined a group-turned-one on one historical walking tour and captured this moment. In a way it makes me feel like I am creating my own little movie frame starting from a memory of a scene, with the two ending up intertwining and forming a new "false" memory. Final year of university. Three best friends. No car, no plan, and jackets that lied about being waterproof. The goal? Reach the lake at Lake District National Park. The reality? The best failed attempt. We rented a tiny cabin on the park’s edge and set off like adventurers… who forgot to read the instructions. We marched through sideways rain, squelchy grass, and somehow… a factory? We climbed hills, jumped questionable fences, greeted sheep like old friends, and pretended we knew where we were going. We never made it to the lake. But we did soak our “waterproof” jackets, barbecue in the rain, and laugh until our faces hurt. Sometimes the best trips aren’t about the destination.
