This photo was taken on my winter 2025 Japan trip where I went to Tokyo, Kamakura and Kawaguchiko. I enjoyed my time there for 2 weeks and during my travel, I went to Tokyo Sky Tree with my family since we've had many memories with this location. I took this photo around the base of Tokyo Sky Tree where the market fair was held during winter. I try to add some foreground elements with the orange trees, and I also waited for the Sky Tree to change its color to red. What I like about this photo is the dominant color palette of the warm, orange-red tones throughout the photo. There is a very noticeable white-blue light at the very top of the tower that draws the viewer's eye. The Sky Tree itself acts as the leading lines towards the light which is a great compositional technique in my opinion. However, there is something odd about this photo. It doesn't look anything close to what FUJIFILM can do straight of camera. That's because of my philosophy on how I process FUJIFILM files. I do use film-recipes for most of my work, but I feel like there is so much more you can do with this incredible sensor. It is like processing a film roll., in ways like developing where I take the base photo (with film-recipe applied) and worked my way processing towards the final outcome. On this specific photo, I used the application Dehancer to add bloom, film stock profile (like Kodak gold 200), halation and emphasise contrast. Since I am also a film-photographer, I enjoy having imperfections in my photos. Not everything has to be clinical sharp all the time, and not over-editing photos to look too 'stylised'. Therefore, I highly encourage photographers to explore many ways that you can push the photo to its potential, not being guilty of over-editing, embracing perfect imperfections, and most of all, enjoy the process.
