A gesture of professional pride performed with total indifference to the public eye. While one half of the street is conscious of how they are seen, the other is simply existing in the thick of a long workday. I had long admired Utsavi’s music, so having the opportunity to collaborate with her was something I felt deeply grateful for. More importantly, this experience helped me overcome a quiet anxiety I had developed about photographing people in public spaces. What began as a simple collaboration gradually reopened a creative door for me. It reminded me why I was drawn to photographing people in the first place and gave me the confidence to return to it without hesitation.
