          <title><![CDATA[This is one of 21 photos from an amazing failed adventure in the Lake District with my two best friends.  Final year of university. Three best friends. No car, no plan, and jackets that lied about being waterproof. The goal? Reach the lake at Lake District National Park. The reality? The best failed attempt.   We rented a tiny cabin on the park’s edge and set off like adventurers… who forgot to read the instructions. We marched through sideways rain, squelchy grass, and somehow… a factory? We climbed hills, jumped questionable fences, greeted sheep like old friends, and pretended we knew where we were going.  We never made it to the lake. But we did soak our “waterproof” jackets, barbecue in the rain, and laugh until our faces hurt.  Sometimes the best trips aren’t about the destination. They’re about soaking wet socks, smoke in your eyes, and that moment when everyone’s laughing too hard to keep walking. The subject is a Mosuo boat rower enjoying a smoke while waiting for his next ride. Each boat ride is physically demanding, as the boats are hand-rowed and the total distance spans just over a kilometer. To prevent exhaustion, each rower is limited to 6 trips a week and all proceeds are pooled into the village's communal fund to be distributed equally. | beanuptosomething]]></title>

In this work, the body floats in suspension, poised between endurance and release. Water serves as both cradle and weight, holding the figure while evoking emotional depth and psychological gravity. The surrounding landscape remains serene, almost indifferent, intensifying the contrast between inner turbulence and outward calm.  This image reflects on the fragile threshold between surrender and survival. Agony is not presented as spectacle, but as an intimate and interior condition. For this trip, I wanted to do film simulations to maximize the European summer sun. Hence, I applied Veres Deni Alex' recipes , but with a few tweaks based on the available features on my cam.   This is one of the back streets of central Madrid. Joined a group-turned-one on one historical walking tour and captured this moment. My tour guide was probably telling me the history of the Church in front of me, but what stuck with me more is how the sun was setting nicely at this moment. | _jotriessomething]]></title>

            <media:title><![CDATA[From afar, this image resembles two bold brushstrokes painted across a blank canvas, forming an “X”. On closer inspection, it reveals a pair of Himalayan Vultures crossing paths in mid-air. Captured in Singapore on 5 January 2026, this moment is especially rare: Himalayan Vultures are vagrants to the region and are typically sighted only in late December and early January. This image remains special to me as it reflects aspects of minimalism, precise timing, and use of space to convey the majestic presence and elegance of the Himalayan Vultures in flight. | Zhi Heng]]></media:title>

          <title><![CDATA[This piece came from a time where I did not really know who I was or where my life was going. I felt very isolated and I was dealing with a lot. During a night out I booked a solo trip to Berlin. I had never been on a plane or abroad on my own. My first night there was cold and I could not sleep so I decided to get my camera out and take some photos to pass the time. A car sped through a set of traffic lights and this is the image that was created. It gave me a sense of clarity within my life and the trip as a whole helped me move forward and moulded me. I look back on this image often when I am feeling rudderless or that I am not achieving personal goals.  Although this is not a fond memory it is one that has gained a positive meaning over time. | Kentledger]]></title>

          <title><![CDATA[Fanesca is an ongoing body of work about how people are shaped by place, history, and belief—and how they reshape them in return through image, dress, and ritual. Rooted in Ecuadorian folklore and contemporary fashion, it examines cultural identity, self-styling, and nostalgia under global influence, tracking how tradition adapts rather than disappears. The project takes its name from fanesca, an Easter dish that blends Indigenous practices with Spanish Catholic beliefs—an everyday metaphor for syncretism and survival.  In its current chapter, La Santísima Tragedia, I focus on the Mama Negra celebration in Latacunga: a living fusion of Indigenous, Spanish, and African cultural lineages. The fiesta—also linked to the Virgen de la Merced—draws on a local vow to honour the figure credited with stopping Cotopaxi’s eruption in 1742. By photographing the ceremony through the language of fashion, portraiture, and performance, I trace how communities carry memory, negotiate power, and build collective resilience—where culture becomes a social infrastructure in the face of change.
