It was early morning when this 6–8-week-old lion cub wanted to leave the bush to play with its sibling. Each time they wandered too far, their mother would lift her head and call them back. The cycle repeated multiple times, testing boundaries and her patience. This moment was captured when one cub refused to listen. Instead of calling again, the mother walked over and lifted her cub, carrying it back to safety. The cub’s expression says it all - a brief flash of defiance, so familiar and relatable. | Jasmine Ee (Wildlife with Jas)

For this trip, I wanted to do film simulations to maximize the European summer sun. Hence, I applied Veres Deni Alex' recipes , but with a few tweaks based on the available features on my cam. This is one of the back streets of central Madrid. Joined a group-turned-one on one historical walking tour and captured this moment. My tour guide was probably telling me the history of the Church in front of me, but what stuck with me more is how the sun was setting nicely at this moment. | _jotriessomething

Surrounded by dense building blocks and repeated routines in Seoul, I remember the bridge as the only place where the uninterrupted sky could be seen. For me, the car was where our family spent the most time together, talking, while I gazed out of the window at the fast-moving cityscape - thinking, revisiting, and imagining. I also caught glimpses of people in their cars or on the subway crossing the bridge, looking out at the river and the distant scene, wondering where they were going and what concerns they might have. Many of Seoul’s bridges were built during the decades of rapid growth in the 1960s and 70s, carrying people swiftly across the Han River as the city expanded. Yet while crossing them, I often found an unexpected stillness, a brief sanctuary where, for a moment, one could lose oneself in thought above the moving city. | Moodeeprincess

This photograph was made in Shirakawa-go, a small mountain village in Japan known for its traditional gassho-style houses. During winter, the landscape transforms into a quiet monochrome world where layers of mountains, forests, and snow shape the atmosphere of the village. Rather than focusing on dramatic moments, the work observes stillness and atmosphere. The village appears small against the surrounding mountains, while a lone hut in the foreground anchors the scene within the vast winter landscape. Snow softens the terrain and simplifies the forms, allowing the quiet character of the place to emerge. As someone who primarily photographs street and documentary work, where moments unfold quickly and unpredictably, standing in this winter landscape was a very different experience. The stillness of the village and the gentle rhythm of falling snow invited a slower way of seeing — one that simply allows the landscape to reveal itself in its own time. | Serene Teo

| Serene Teo

I met this man one morning at the local markets, surrounded by the sounds of vendors calling out and the smell of fresh fruit and street food in the air. We sat together as strangers for ten minutes that felt timeless. He spoke no English, and I spoke only basic Thai, just enough for simple conversation, yet somehow we shared something far deeper. Through gestures, smiles, laughter, and patient listening, we spoke about life, family, and the beauty of everyday moments. I love overcoming language barriers, and Thailand has shown me how powerful human connection can be when both people are willing to meet halfway The Thai people carry a rare kindness that is gentle, open, and endlessly welcoming. This photograph is a tribute to my love for Thailand and to the people who remind me that language is not just spoken, but felt | Lanna Shuttered Moments

This photo was taken on 29 October 2024, when I was doing my solo day trip around Tallinn, Estonia! I was just walking around and happen to saw this young gentleman chilling, who seemed to be reflecting on his life. I thought the tree and the castle behind were complementary features to the picture at such a perfect angle to where he is seated, hence I took this shot! A vision of this image would be that, in life, as we grow older and our pace of life gets faster where we face multiple life stages (from finishing our education, to getting an occupation, settling our future homes), there are so many seasons in our life such that there will be ups and downs. The dried autumn tree has its leaves shed, but the leaves will grow back again. This represents that even when we get lost in the midst of living, it's okay to face setbacks and have your leaves all shedded off. However, you will bounce up from your obstacles and grow out of them, which represents the leaves growing once again. This reflects your personal growth. The castle represents a Home, where despite whatever challenges you face in your life, there will be a Home for you. That can be your inner self love, your family who will love and support you, your close friends who you confide in or anyone you know you can return to peacefully, safe and sound amidst life's chaos and obstacles. The gentleman resting can be you, but this picture shows that Life goes on as days pass by regardless of how tough or happy your day may be. You just have to remember through your journey, you will value personal growth and have love in your life. | Chan Jian Liang

Happiness and grief are not emotions you would expect to co-exist at a wedding but somehow, it did for me on the day my older brother and sister-in-law got married. In 2022, months before my brother and sister-in-law got married, my paternal granddad passed on, missing his chance to see his very first grandchild get married. And being the secondary photographer at your sibling's wedding with that reminder just flashing through your mind the entire day, it silently increases the weight of your role and responsibility to document the occasion. Photographed is my paternal grandma who is still alive but does not remember my granddad due to her dementia and my brother alongside my sister-in-law who is telling my grandma that they were getting married that very day. The reason I chose this photo among all the photos I shot that day was because of how intimate it felt and how it reminded me of the importance of documentation. Although my granddad never made it to the wedding, my grandma did and for that, I'm thankful I got to document these moments during such a loaded occasion. With all that in mind, I hope you walk away from this photo, documenting more moments in your own life because someday, someone would want to look back on a moment when they still had you. | Tristan Tan
