Ricoh Imaging Company, Ltd. announced the waterproof compact digital camera 'PENTAX WG-8'. The release date has been postponed to mid-July 2024. The price is 89,100 yen (tax included). Available in black and green, with the green model sold exclusively on the direct sales site and PENTAX Clubhouse.
The delay is due to the need for additional time in the final adjustments of the shipping process.
A Tough Compact Camera with Quality and Versatility
The new 'PENTAX WG-8' is equipped with a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor with approximately 20 million effective pixels, offering high-quality images with an ISO sensitivity range of 125 to 6400. Thanks to super-resolution technology, it captures clear photos in detail, and the handheld night scene mode allows for less blurry night photography. The lens features an optical 5x zoom equivalent to approximately 28-140mm in 35mm format, and the intelligent zoom function enables high magnification shooting up to about 40.5x.
Additionally, it supports 4K/30fps video recording, webcam functionality, and GPS, making it suitable for outdoor use. The 3.0-inch LCD monitor with approximately 1.04 million dots has anti-reflection coating for better visibility outdoors, and it supports SDXC/SDHC/SD cards with a built-in memory of about 27MB.
