On April 25, 2023, DJI unveiled the flagship drone “Mavic 3 Pro,” featuring a triple-camera system with a Hasselblad camera, a medium telephoto, and a telephoto lens. This model is equipped with omnidirectional obstacle sensing, HD video transmission up to 15 km (8 km within Japan), and a range of advanced features. Sales commence on May 9, 2023, with prices starting at ¥261,800 (tax included).
Pioneering a New Era in Aerial Photography
The inclusion of a triple-lens system allows creators to effortlessly switch shooting perspectives with a single tap, enabling visual artists to capture a diverse range of compositions more efficiently than ever before.
“We hope users will create outstanding works that inspire viewers with new spatial and distance perspectives,” says DJI Creative Director Ferdin and Wolf.
Three Distinct Lenses in a Single Drone
Equipped with a triple-camera system offering focal lengths of 24mm, 70mm, and 166mm, the Mavic 3 Pro adapts to a wide array of scenarios. The wide-angle camera allows users to survey the desired location, the medium telephoto lens enables focused framing of specific areas, and the telephoto lens can be used to highlight particular scenes or subjects. These cameras can be combined to achieve a variety of creative results.
Top-Tier Hasselblad Camera (Wide-Angle 24mm)
Like other models in the Mavic 3 series, the Mavic 3 Pro features a 4/3 CMOS Hasselblad camera. It supports up to 12.8 stops of native dynamic range and captures 12-bit RAW images. Thanks to the Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution (HNCS), it accurately reproduces colors as perceived by the human eye, eliminating the need for complex post-production or color presets. The camera offers professional-grade video specs, including up to 5.1K/50fps and DCI 4K/120fps recording.
Medium Telephoto Camera (70mm)
Featuring a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, this camera offers 3x optical zoom and supports both 48MP and 12MP stills, as well as 4K/60fps video recording. It now also supports D-Log M. The compression effect results in a shallower depth of field, allowing subjects to stand out and enabling the creation of imagery with a distinctive sense of depth.
Telephoto Camera (166mm)
Compared to the telephoto camera on the Mavic 3, this model offers improved resolution, a wider aperture (from F4.4 to F3.4), and enhanced video frame rates. It enables 4K/60fps video recording and 12MP stills with 7x optical zoom, and supports up to 28x hybrid zoom.
Ample Battery Life and Enhanced Safety with Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing
With ample battery capacity, the Mavic 3 Pro offers a maximum flight time of 43 minutes, allowing creators to carefully compose their shots before capturing them. The drone features omnidirectional obstacle sensing and APAS 5.0, with eight wide-angle vision sensors seamlessly integrated with a high-performance visual computing engine to accurately detect obstacles and plan safe flight paths.
The DJI O3+ transmission system ensures a stable and clear camera view, delivering 1080p/60fps HD live video at high frame rates from up to 15 km away (8 km within Japan). Additional features include waypoint flight, cruise control, and advanced RTH for automated flight operations.
Intelligent Features
The Mavic 3 Pro supports the full suite of intelligent features available on DJI drones.
FocusTrack
The Hasselblad and medium telephoto cameras on the Mavic 3 Pro support FocusTrack, which includes three modes: ActiveTrack 5.0, Spotlight, and Point of Interest (POI). These enable stable tracking shots while flying in various directions.
MasterShots
With simple touch controls, users can initiate automated shooting, editing, and music addition, generating cinematic videos automatically.
QuickShots
Utilize QuickShots modes such as Dronie, Rocket, Circle, and Helix to capture dynamic footage with a variety of camera movements.
Panorama Photography
Recreate breathtaking landscapes in stunning detail with 100MP panoramic photos, composed by stitching together multiple images without compromising image quality.
