From afar, this image resembles two bold brushstrokes painted across a blank canvas, forming an “X”. On closer inspection, it reveals a pair of Himalayan Vultures crossing paths in mid-air. Captured in Singapore on 5 January 2026, this moment is especially rare: Himalayan Vultures are vagrants to the region and are typically sighted only in late December and early January. This image remains special to me as it reflects aspects of minimalism, precise timing, and use of space to convey the majestic presence and elegance of the Himalayan Vultures in flight.
