this is a photo of my daughter on our first trip to ramsgate shortly after arriving to the uk from south africa.... it was her first time seeing "the ocean" ( i know not technically the ocean) her reaction to the envirnoment and the way she played reminded me of family trips i used to take with my family to the beach... one of the few ways my step father and i would connect, it was always one of my safe spaces... taking the moment to watch zoe experience uninterrupted joy like this was beautiful to watch... shooting this day on film also ensured that i didnt spend the entire day glued to my camera.... i took a few moments to capture a few memorable moments, and then put the camera away and enjoyed the time with my family... the very reason i started shooting film in the first place
