On this day, the sky reminded me of fierce passion, freedom, and a love for a vibrant world. It felt oddly fitting, because I was hanging out with my first childhood best friend. She reflects the colours of this sky so completely. I’ve known her since we were eight years old, when she was the studious, top-scoring girl in class. Now, she’s grown into a talented, free, and beautifully wild spirit who still surprises and intrigues me with her thoughtful perspectives on life. As we both turn 28 next year, I feel grateful to still be her friend. This sky will always remind me of her, a friend I wholeheartedly accept, admire, and love - even if our lives and values are very much different.
