They occasionally venture out to areas near roads, to feed on vegetation that grows outside of the secondary forests. Unseen by many, these shy creatures prefer to avoid human encounters as they feed throughout the night. As responsible motorists/cyclists, we can all make an effort to observe a safe speed, while on roads flanking the central catchment area. He must intriguing who I was. Barely seen asian in middle of Kenya, and who has a machine gun type camera in his hand and walking with bunch of group of white people. I must be so strange to his eye. He must want to know more about me. He kept fallow me until I finally stop by one of host. I was looking around and here he is. I finally have eye contacted with him, and my finger couldn't resist not to do. My finger start to push shutter and got his eye. The eyes with curious and wondering. Around 2016-17, I found myself to be going through a serious mental health crisis, navigating through depression, anxiety and being diagnosed with OCD because of some resurfaced childhood trauma. Soon enough I had to be admitted to a rehabilitation center and put on medicines to recover, and couldn't really see myself living my life beyond my early 20s. As I was homebound during these phases, Self-portraiture came to me as a way of trying to find stillness and meaning within all the chaos of my life through these years. It became a means of reconnecting with myself and my body and mind. It was kind of a reassurance of my existence when I felt that I had lost myself.
