I was also welcomed to watch them prepare themselves for the performance. Right from the base makeup, to the quills added to make the broad jaw, the frills added to make the flawless outfit and then the stunning jewellery.It was so thrilling to see it all come together in a span of 3 hours which were dedicatedly spent in donning a persona that felt so real. But I wasn’t just capturing moments, I was chasing stories, experimenting with new techniques, trying to see how far I could push a frame. This photo came from that phase. It almost looks like a hand reaching out, about to grab the woman’s head, something straight out of a horror film. But in reality, it was from a heartbreaking music video. I think that contrast says a lot about where my mind was back then. I miss that version of me, the one who kept trying, who wasn’t afraid to explore, even if the outcome was uncertain.
