Her stories about previous generations of people who lived on our road were fascinating - the lady who lived in the house before her said that, during the war, a bomb dropped in our garden! Sarah used to be part of the Portobello arts scene in the 60's, so understands creative expression. When I suggested a photoshoot she was very much up for it. It almost looks like a hand reaching out, about to grab the woman’s head, something straight out of a horror film. But in reality, it was from a heartbreaking music video. I think that contrast says a lot about where my mind was back then. I miss that version of me, the one who kept trying, who wasn’t afraid to explore, even if the outcome was uncertain.
