The narrow, sloping lanes were crowded with people, making it difficult to find a clear spot to stand. As the procession moved quickly downhill, I had only a split second to frame the shot through my viewfinder. Surrounded by local women in their signature Himachali caps, the scene shows the living history of the mountains. I've been there many, many times over the years and every time I visit it feels different : the light changes, the wildlife you see changes and the flora and fauna change too. This time in the evening there is my favourite. You feel the park slowing down, wildlife coming to rest as the light fades through daylight blues to beautiful oranges, yellows and reds.
