I've been there many, many times over the years and every time I visit it feels different : the light changes, the wildlife you see changes and the flora and fauna change too. This time in the evening there is my favourite. You feel the park slowing down, wildlife coming to rest as the light fades through daylight blues to beautiful oranges, yellows and reds. In the distance, three people sat quietly on the vast salt flats. Before them stood a mountain range, with the sun slowly descending behind it. Seeing this scene, I instinctively raised my camera and pressed the shutter. What moved me in that moment was the quiet power of nature, its scale, its stillness, and its beauty. Standing there, I felt how small we are in comparison, and how many of the worries we carry in daily life fade when placed against something so immense.
