Date: 17 OCT 2024, Thursday, 11:15am (unedited) I was on the way from home to go to a nearby supermarket to buy groceries for dinner with my mum. We were on the way to the train station when my mum thought she saw a toy bird standing on a thick rope between a young tree and a support rod. Upon looking closer, the bird blinked. It was no toy. It was a White-throated Kingfisher. Thankfully, I happen to have packed my camera (owned it for about 5 months) in my backpack. I quickly deployed it, stood about 1-2m away to give the bird some space. Shot a burst of shots, then we left as we did not want to disturb the bird any further. Looking back at this shot, had I not been retrench from my job of 2.5 years, had I not bought this camera that was released 7 years ago, had it not been my mum who first notice the bird... I would have never taken this shot. Surely, there is a reason (know or unknow) that one was there at that very moment to capture it in a single frame. I always loved to capture nature in "true to life" colours to represent things as authentically as possible.
