« Liquid Metropolis » Here, the concrete city finally succumbs to the 'floating world.' In this reflection on the palace moat, the rigid grid of modern skyscrapers liquefies into wavering abstract lines. The solidity of the architecture is revealed as an illusion, echoing the Ukiyo-e philosophy that the material world is fluid and ever-changing. Note: This work is currently competing in the 23rd International Photography Awards (IPA). | Corinne Vallienne

An opened umbrella covers a shopping basket. From a distance, it resembles a standing figure, presenting the form of “protection.” Yet this protection does not arise from consciousness; it is merely the accidental arrangement of objects. Behavior can be visualized.Posture can be imitated. But understanding cannot be replicated. The umbrella appears gentle, as if deliberately guarding what lies beneath it. Yet it does not know that it is protecting. It cannot comprehend the rain, the objects, or loneliness. Loneliness does not belong to the unconscious. It belongs to the being that is aware of its own existence. To be human is not defined by form or movement, but by an awareness of being — by understanding the distance between oneself and the world. Gentleness can be observed.Loneliness must be endured. | Wee

Title: The Willow Veil Viewed through the timeless curtain of a weeping willow, the frantic megalopolis is pushed into the distance, small and harmless. Nature reclaims the frame, offering a moment of 'Ma' (negative space) and stillness. The concrete remains, but the spirit has found its drift. This work is currently competing in the 23rd International Photography Awards (IPA). | Corinne Vallienne
