Subject : The Last Light on Momochi Camera : Nikon F80 Lens : AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm F3.5-5.6G ED VR Film : Kodak Ultramax 400 The day was almost over at Momochi Beach. As the sun disappeared behind the city, the buildings slowly lost their details and became little more than silhouettes. What remained was the light. Golden reflections stretched across the water and followed the curve of the shoreline, separating the dark beach from the darkening sea. For a few minutes, the familiar city looked completely different. The buildings, the beach, and even the people along the shore seemed to lose their individual shapes and become part of the same landscape. That was what made me stop. Sunsets happen every day, but the light never seems to leave the same way twice. Soon, the yellow sky would turn blue, the silhouettes would disappear into the night, and Momochi would return to being an ordinary city beach. But for a brief moment, everything was held together by the last light of the day.
