It's home to the Mosuo, an ethnic matriarchal tribe. The subject is a Mosuo boat rower enjoying a smoke while waiting for his next ride. Each boat ride is physically demanding, as the boats are hand-rowed and the total distance spans just over a kilometer. '유키무시'라고 하는 지독한 벌레를 만나 꽤 고생하기도 했고, 완벽하게 세팅하고 촬영한 장면이 아니기 때문에 다소 어지럽기도 하지만, 마음의 일렁거림이 제법 담겨졌다고 생각해 좋아하는 사진입니다. This is probably the autumn scenery we’ll soon encounter. I didn’t particularly like autumn, but as I’ve accumulated memories of enjoying the scenery and spending time with people I cherish, I’ve grown to love it. I took this photo when I traveled alone to Hokkaido, and I felt a sense of "An Enchanted Realm," which inspired me to name it "Holgyeong (惚境)." I had quite a hard time dealing with a pesky insect called "Yukimushi," and since the scene wasn’t perfectly set up for the shoot, it might seem a bit chaotic.
