Creators who love photography share their stories with cameras. The existence of a 'beloved camera' reflects each person's life and values. In this series, Takuya, who uses the Nikon Z8, appears.

He talks about his shooting experience with this model, which features a robust design, high operability, and excellent dust and water resistance. He explores the charm of photography with a unique perspective, focusing on intuitive operability in landscape and portrait photography and high color reproduction during editing.

Nikon Z 8 Basic Information

The Z 8 achieves a body approximately 30% smaller while maintaining the same functions as the Nikon Z 9. It is equipped with a stacked CMOS sensor with 45.71 million effective pixels and the latest image processing engine, EXPEED 8, offering a variety of features such as high-speed continuous shooting and 8K video recording. Additionally, the design without a mechanical shutter allows for silent and durable shooting.

Subject detection AF supports a variety of subjects, including people, animals, and vehicles, achieving precise focusing. It can reliably capture fast-moving subjects. The newly added 'Auto Capture' function automatically takes still images or videos according to set conditions. Furthermore, the 'Pixel Shift Shooting' function allows for high-definition recording of details in architecture and artworks.

The First Thing I Notice

When buying, I thought I'd go for something good, so I purchased the Nikon Z 8. The first thing I notice when using it is its weight.

However, this also connects to the feeling of 'holding a camera, taking photos,' which I find to be a good point.

Convenient Features

There are many points that I find convenient when shooting, one of which is the high versatility of the action button.

There is a feature that allows you to register up to four self-determined settings called 'SHOOT' during shooting, which can be switched instantly, and this has been very helpful.

Naturally Boosted Excitement

The deep grip makes it easy to hold, and it's nice that you don't get tired even after using it for a long time. The viewfinder is surprisingly clear, which boosts excitement while shooting.

At the same time, because it is a mechanical shutter, it might be a downside for creators who value sound as an important point.

Since I mainly focus on photography, it doesn't bother me, but if you also shoot videos, you might feel that the battery drains quickly.

Sense of Security in Tough Environments

Since I often take landscape photos of nature, the images can vary greatly depending on the environment and weather, but it's strong against wind and rain, and I like the sense of security that it's okay to handle it roughly in a good way.

Regarding colors, everything I shot felt fresh and had good color rendering during editing without being overly distinctive. There are still many parts I haven't mastered yet, so I will continue to take it to various places.
