The Country Where Wallets Return Safely: Japan

Have you ever lost your wallet? (Admittedly, I've experienced this multiple times, and I was anxious until it returned to me.) However, this small mishap can be an opportunity to appreciate the Japanese police and the safety they ensure.

We are currently running a hashtag campaign for #LostItems. If you find any lost items, please take a photo and deliver it to your nearest police box.

In Japan, it is common to report lost wallets or valuables to the police. Amazingly, in many cases, the wallet is returned to its owner. According to statistics from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, there is a more than 75% chance that lost wallets are returned to their owners.

The Changing Face of Traditional Japan

Japan is known globally as a peaceful and safe country. While political and economic factors contribute, the daily dedication of the police is also a significant factor.

Moreover, the kindness of Japanese people greatly contributes to maintaining Japan as a peaceful and safe country. However, with increasing individualism and a waning interest in traditional culture among the youth, traditional Japanese culture might be undergoing changes.

What we can do is consciously act to ensure Japan remains a good country.

However, it can be challenging to constantly care for others if you don't have peace of mind yourself. Perhaps your love for cameras and photography can indirectly contribute to making the country better by providing peace of mind.

So, why not capture scenes that evoke kindness with your camera today?
