In the announcement magazine for the hashtag campaign, we proposed the following way of capturing shadows in photography:

“A method of expression that can encompass much more meaning than just the fact of being a shape created on the ground by blocking sunlight.”

We also highlighted the keyword 'high-context' as a hint.

The works submitted by everyone ranged from high-context pieces that met expectations to those capturing from innovative perspectives, making it a very successful campaign.

Now, let's introduce some particularly noteworthy works!

The contrast between the bright outside and the dark inside is clear, capturing from the light. The location's dilapidation is notable, with dirt, mud, and scattered debris like wood chips, adding a dusty feel. What was this space used for? Why did the photographer choose to be here and take this shot? A high-context work that sparks various imaginations.

On a chilly autumn day, the photographer went to capture the last glimpses of the autumn leaves. On the way back, they noticed their shadow cast by the setting sun on a carpet of fallen leaves and snapped a shot. It's a favorite piece that makes us happy, thinking it was taken with the tag campaign in mind.

Among many monochrome photos emphasizing shadows, this piece was taken in bright daylight. In the background, parents can be seen cheering close to the rope, reminiscent of a typical summer sports day photo. The shadow cast on what seems to be a school building's course enhances the reality of the venue, conveying a sense of excitement.

There were few works featuring the moon as a subject in this tag campaign, which was unexpected for us. The moon is often photographed as a light source in night photography, but upon reflection, it is also closely related to shadows, as its phases change due to shadows. This waning crescent moon evokes the presence of its hidden shadowed part.
