By simply choosing a city and date, creators can join a physical photo poster exhibition—and meet fellow creatives in real life.

In this issue, we spoke with Miki, who participated in the photo poster project, about what brought her to the event, what the experience felt like, and why she chose the photograph she exhibited.

Hi cizucu creators, I’m Miki. I’m a full-time videographer / video editor, and I love taking photos as a hobby.

This year, I wanted to step out of my comfort zone—to meet more creative people and people with similar interests, and to get my creative juice going. When I came across photo poster project ads on Instagram, I decided to give it a try.

My biggest motivation was that attending would allow me to meet more people in the creative community. And it was my first time joining an event like this, so it was really nerve-wracking.

I feel like it was such a heart-warming event, as people with similar interests came together and talked about the things they love.

And through their story sharing about their photos, it made us see their point of view when taking the photos, and from there we managed to learn a thing or two.

I chose this particular piece as I will always remember the feeling I got when I decided to capture this exact moment.

And it was such a rare scene for me, as I don’t see elderly couples still holding hands side by side with their walking sticks in their hand. The slow walking and quiet moment they shared could never be described by words. So this will forever be one of my favourite pieces.

I would say, just do it and give it a try.

You will meet all different kinds of creative people and they are all friendly—everyone would just be loving each other’s work. If you are afraid you would be awkward there, no worries, as the cizucu team members would be there and make sure you are comfortable at the event.
