The photo poster project, organized by cizucu and held worldwide, allows you to participate in a photo poster exhibition simply by submitting your photographs to cizucu, offering opportunities to connect with fellow photographers you have yet to meet.
This time, we spoke with creator dz a.k.a dashan, who took part in the photo poster project.

Please introduce yourself!
My name is dz.
I am a beginner with just six months of experience in photography. While assisting with the social media management for a friend's company brand, I once gave feedback on some photos and was told, “What do you know about cameras?” That prompted me to purchase a camera and start shooting products myself. I quickly became captivated by the joy of photography and have continued it as a new hobby.
What inspired you to participate?
This was my first time participating in a photography exhibition.
For a long time, I have believed that one should devote their 30s and 40s to work, and enjoy life in their 50s.
Now that I have turned 50, I resolved to challenge myself with everything that interests me this year.

It was in this context that I received the invitation to exhibit in this poster exhibition. Although I wasn’t confident in my photography, I decided to participate, ready to embrace the experience even if it meant risking embarrassment.
How was your experience participating?
I was a bit anxious before participating, but once I joined, I truly enjoyed myself and was glad I took part. The staff and other participants were very welcoming, which quickly put me at ease, and the entire experience was comfortable from start to finish.
Rather than being a competitive environment, it was a space where photography enthusiasts could gather and connect, making it a valuable learning experience for a beginner like me.
What left a strong impression was hearing the stories and intentions behind each artwork, which completely changed how I viewed the photographs. I feel this will influence how I approach photography going forward.
Why did you choose that particular photograph for the exhibition?
I shoot a wide variety of genres, so I couldn’t decide which photograph to select for the exhibition. Ultimately, I chose the photo that had the highest reach and most likes on Instagram, thinking that it must have resonated with many people.

This is also one of my personal favorites, so I was happy to have chosen this photograph for the exhibition.
For those considering participating in the photo poster project
Don’t overthink it—just give it a try!
The participants are friendly and share your passion, so I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time.
I also encourage you to listen to the stories and thoughts behind each artwork as you view them. I believe you’ll discover even more depth and enjoyment in photography.
