In recent years, Tamron has been restructuring its production bases, a transformative move shaped by the turbulent waves of the U.S.-China trade conflict.

Building a New Production Hub in Vietnam
In early 2025, Tamron launched a large-scale factory in Vinh Phuc Province, Vietnam, with an investment of approximately 4 billion yen. This facility handles everything from metal processing to lens assembly, serving as a mass production hub. Full-scale operations are planned by 2028.
One of the key objectives is to avoid the 25% U.S. tariff on Chinese products, with plans to shift about 45% of production to Vietnam in the future.
A Tri-Base System for Stable Supply
Tamron has established a tri-base system with Japan (Aomori), China, and Vietnam. Japan functions as the "mother factory" for technological development, China focuses on the Chinese market, and Vietnam serves as a global supply hub.

By 2028, the production ratio between China and Vietnam is expected to equalize, aiming to mitigate geopolitical risks while establishing a stable product supply system.
Expanding Horizons with New Lenses
In 2025, Tamron plans to release six new lenses, the highest number in its history. From 2026 onward, the company aims to expand to 10 models annually, supporting a variety of mounts, including Canon, Nikon, Sony, and Fujifilm.
OEM production is also being strengthened, with a flexible supply system supporting creative and inspiring photography experiences.
