In 2022, months before my brother and sister-in-law got married, my paternal granddad passed on, missing his chance to see his very first grandchild get married. And being the secondary photographer at your sibling's wedding with that reminder just flashing through your mind the entire day, it silently increases the weight of your role and responsibility to document the occasion. Photographed is my paternal grandma who is still alive but does not remember my granddad due to her dementia and my brother alongside my sister-in-law who is telling my grandma that they were getting married that very day. The reason I chose this photo among all the photos I shot that day was because of how intimate it felt and how it reminded me of the importance of documentation. Although my granddad never made it to the wedding, my grandma did and for that, I'm thankful I got to document these moments during such a loaded occasion. I am mainly a self proclaimed “cat photographer” now since I’ve been taking pictures of street cats in a park that is inside a super crowded area. I am not quite sure how the first batch of cats got there but they are mostly the offsprings of stray cats being abandoned there years ago. I chose this picture particularly due to the fact that the moment is just so immaculate that he cat is posing like a guy with cool aura, that’s it. A gesture of professional pride performed with total indifference to the public eye. While one half of the street is conscious of how they are seen, the other is simply existing in the thick of a long workday. Nephew had no cousin to play with as his uncle (me) decided not to have any kids. A somewhat familiar sight in an aging society like Singapore. this was one of the few times he "dived" under as he was still building on his water confidence. Doing much better now! Photo was taken with a sports housing that was acquired due to the appeal of surfing photography - a genre that brings together my love for nature and sports at the same time. But never got to try to date. He must want to know more about me. He kept fallow me until I finally stop by one of host. I was looking around and here he is. I finally have eye contacted with him, and my finger couldn't resist not to do. My finger start to push shutter and got his eye. The eyes with curious and wondering.
