          <title><![CDATA[As a vegan, finding satisfying, decadent, luxurious desserts is really hard. After a full week of work, sport, and house chores, I find incredible happiness in going for a solo exploration of the vegan pastry shops in town. At the counter, I take my time to decide on the dessert that matches my day vibes. Then, when it arrives, I savor every little piece with wonder: what are the ingredients of the sponge, which spices were used, and how is the custard made? I feel lucky and happy to be able to eat a delicious treat that is good for me and for the planet, without hurting the animals. When it is time to leave the shop, I feel recharged with positive vibes, grateful, and ready to take on what the next week has in store for me.  Lately, I took the time to freeze these happy moments in time with my film camera. The village appears small against the surrounding mountains, while a lone hut in the foreground anchors the scene within the vast winter landscape. Snow softens the terrain and simplifies the forms, allowing the quiet character of the place to emerge.  As someone who primarily photographs street and documentary work, where moments unfold quickly and unpredictably, standing in this winter landscape was a very different experience.             <media:title><![CDATA[This photograph was made in Shirakawa-go, a small mountain village in Japan known for its traditional gassho-style houses. During winter, the landscape transforms into a quiet monochrome world where layers of mountains, forests, and snow shape the atmosphere of the village.  Rather than focusing on dramatic moments, the work observes stillness and atmosphere. The village appears small against the surrounding mountains, while a lone hut in the foreground anchors the scene within the vast winter landscape. Snow softens the terrain and simplifies the forms, allowing the quiet character of the place to emerge.  As someone who primarily photographs street and documentary work, where moments unfold quickly and unpredictably, standing in this winter landscape was a very different experience. The stillness of the village and the gentle rhythm of falling snow invited a slower way of seeing — one that simply allows the landscape to reveal itself in its own time. | Serene Teo]]></media:title>

          <title><![CDATA[A Language Beyond Words  Chiang Mai taught me that the deepest conversations do not always depend on perfect language.  I met this man one morning at the local markets, surrounded by the sounds of vendors calling out and the smell of fresh fruit and street food in the air. We sat together as strangers for ten minutes that felt timeless. He spoke no English, and I spoke only basic Thai, just enough for simple conversation, yet somehow we shared something far deeper.  Through gestures, smiles, laughter, and patient listening, we spoke about life, family, and the beauty of everyday moments. I love overcoming language barriers, and Thailand has shown me how powerful human connection can be when both people are willing to meet halfway   The Thai people carry a rare kindness that is gentle, open, and endlessly welcoming.           <title><![CDATA[Juliet in the garden, December 2025 By Leonie Freeman  In December 2025 I travelled to Ibiza to photograph a project about the colourful native Ibizan lizard facing extinction due to invasive snakes coming to the island. This lizard is an ancient species and a much loved symbol of the island. In the last decade numbers are down 80%, since snake eggs have been finding their way to Ibiza hidden in the roots of imported olive trees from mainland Spain. The snakes have multiplied hugely in numbers and have been killing and eating the lizards, who have no defence against the snakes. People living on Ibiza are coming together to try and save the beloved lizard, by making snake traps and lizard sanctuaries where hopefully numbers can recover.  I was collaborating with Joanna Hruby, of Theatre of the Ancients, a puppet maker and performance artist. Joanna was putting on a Christmas play about the lizard and snake problem, at Can Cristofol farm. The play was a version of Shakespeare’s Room & Juliet, ‘Un Amor Impossible’…. Or ‘an impossible love’ between two species who can not co-exist on the island. With children dressed in amazing hand make costumes, the feuding families of the original Shakespeare play were instead lizards and snakes.   Juliet, played by Fallon, was Juliet and fell in love with Romeo, a snake. In this portrait we see Fallon as Juliet, photographed at sunset in the orange garden at Can Cristofol. She is gleaming in the golden hour sun and it feels like she is in the garden of Eden.   Shot on Mamiya 645 Pro camera with 45mm Mamiya Sekor lens.           <title><![CDATA[I can't remember the exact date for this photo but this photo was taken at Plaza de España, Seville, Spain! I was with my friend walking around the area and I happened to see this lovely couple having their pre-wedding photoshoot right in front of the water fountain at the venue. I realised I had another angle that's a bit closer to the couple than what the photographer intended, and I decided to take my shot! I love seeing wedding photography / videography, as somebody who did wedding videography before.   My vision for this photo is, well, I hope everyone in their lives, be it single or attached or married, I hope that you (as the black shirt man) remember to love yourself while loving your inner child / your partner / your spouse (as the woman in the wedding dress). The shadows of the Woman's feet being lifted up by the man represents that, everyone regardless of their marital status, should have love in their life where they can overcome any obstacles together and be happy / contented with oneself (be it alone or as a nucleus). The natural Rainbow formed behind them was such a magnificent feature to be present in their photo. I hope everyone can remember that there are different colours to defining love and our feelings, because love is never a fixed shade or colour. Just like emotions, there are ups and downs in Love but the most important thing to remember out of all is that, we should embrace all of our own colours to find our own internal beauty and love ourselves even after overcoming your most difficult problems that you thought you would never get through (which can be represented by the water fountain spraying, but there's still a Rainbow shining right above the water).  | Chan Jian Liang]]></title>
