This photo was taken last year during the Chinese New Year period, where I stumbled upon a Buddhist monastery near where I live. As I further explored this place, I took notice of the elderly woman circling around this large display, quietly reciting her prayers with incense in hand. What drew me to this scene in particular is how shooting through the plastic cover (made to shelter the place) helped blur the detail and mesh the colours of the structure, in addition to further silhouetting the woman who already looks so small in the frame, emphasizing on the sense of lone serenity that intrigued me about this moment. To me, street photography has always been about having the sense to capture the scenes in the everyday that might've gone ignored, with this photo being amongst the first where I infused abstract elements in my work to draw on the emotional depth of the photo even more, on top of authenticity. | a.da.md

I took this photo on the last day day of my three day trip to Hong Kong in November 2025. As someone who loves capturing lines, symmetry and geometry, this spot was on the top of my list of places to visit in the city. When I arrived it in the morning, the play of light and shadow was just perfect. I waited for a while, hoping for a subject to step into the frame and add a sense of scale and depth. Luckily, two people walked through and I was able to capture the shot I had been imagining. | Gautami Golani

This was one of my very first works, back when I’d just stepped out into the world as an assistant photographer. It means a lot to me, especially now, because this marks my 20th year practicing photography, both as a job and as something I genuinely love. Looking back, this image feels like a reminder of how far I’ve come. Everything was so pure back then, still a little naive. Money mattered, sure, but it was never the source of happiness. I just wanted to shoot. If I didn’t have the budget for models or fancy props, I’d make do with whatever was around in the studio I was working at. Maybe this image didn’t fully make sense to me at that point in time but it does now. That’s what makes it even more meaningful. It sums up what photography has taught me over the years: to stay flexible, adapt, and keep creating no matter the circumstances. | Lousycameraman

For me, the car was where our family spent the most time together, talking, while I gazed out of the window at the fast-moving cityscape - thinking, revisiting, and imagining. I also caught glimpses of people in their cars or on the subway crossing the bridge, looking out at the river and the distant scene, wondering where they were going and what concerns they might have. Many of Seoul’s bridges were built during the decades of rapid growth in the 1960s and 70s, carrying people swiftly across the Han River as the city expanded. Yet while crossing them, I often found an unexpected stillness, a brief sanctuary where, for a moment, one could lose oneself in thought above the moving city. | Moodeeprincess

This photograph captures a quiet moment of solitude beneath a tree. A young boy sits absorbed in his own world, momentarily separated from the noise and movement of everyday life around him. The scene reflects the small spaces of stillness that exist even within busy environments. Using black and white allows the image to focus on mood, light, and emotion rather than colour. The contrast between shadow and light highlights the boy’s concentration while the surrounding darkness frames the moment, creating a sense of calm and introspection. Through this work, I aim to show how simple, ordinary moments can carry quiet depth. The photograph invites viewers to pause and reflect on the unnoticed moments of stillness that often exist in our everyday lives. | Akshob Ram Kumar

This photograph was taken in 2019 in South Iceland during a road trip to celebrate turning thirty that year. Back then, it didn’t just mark a birthday, but also a personal milestone, one that was of pausing, reflecting, and choosing to step into a new decade with curiosity and courage. This image wasn’t easy to capture. Iceland is known for its powerful winds, and flying a drone against those winds meant that the drone's battery would drain much more quickly. I quickly realised that flying harder was not the way to go, and that I had to think differently. Instead of forcing my way through the wind, I had to allow the wind to work with me. So I landed the drone, hopped into the car with my friends, and drove nearly two kilometres ahead before launching my drone again, allowing the winds to guide me as I surveyed the landscape. By then, a storm was approaching, and I felt a strong sense of urgency, but I knew I had to stay focused and calm. Then this river stood out amongst the smaller streams, carving its way into the distance. In that moment, I knew I had to find the right composition. After capturing the shot, I felt an immense sense of satisfaction and elation. Not just because I succeeded technically, but because the photograph embodied something deeper. It reminded me to adapt instead of resist, to pause and rethink instead of pushing blindly forward, and that sometimes, working with the forces around us leads to something far more meaningful. | Nicholas

| Nicholas

This portrait was taken in Moscow 2022 during my first experiments with fashion portrait photography. At that time, I had just gained access to a studio, and the model and I simply played with light, without a clear plan or expectations. It was an attempt to capture a mood rather than create a specific image. The result was a photograph that remains one of my favorites to this day. There is a sense of silence and depth in it, as if the gaze comes from another time. The light gently draws the face out of the darkness, leaving a feeling of both fragility and inner strength. Sometimes the most important works are born not from a carefully constructed concept, but from pure experimentation and trust in the moment. | Liza Medvedeva

This work documents the vibrant Vittal Birdev Yatra, also known as the Yellow Festival, celebrated in Pattan Kodoli near Kolhapur, Maharashtra. What drew me to this festival was not just the explosion of turmeric in the air, but the faith behind it. Thousands of devotees gather, chanting and covering everything in yellow as a symbol of devotion, hope, and gratitude for a good agricultural season. At the heart of the festival sits Sri Keloba Rajabau Waghmode, lovingly called the “Old Man,” under a banyan tree. People throw haldi over him and seek his blessings. He is believed to be a messenger of God, someone who predicts rain, farming conditions, and the community’s future. Through my photographs, I wanted to capture more than color I wanted to show belief, tradition, and the emotional connection between people and ritual. One challenge was working in dense turmeric clouds, protecting my gear while staying present in the moment. Going forward, I want to continue documenting such cultural stories that reflect India’s deep rooted heritage and living traditions. | Streetwala

Sometimes we find beauty in the outer landscapes, yet it is within our small singularities, in the everyday present of our lives and homes, that we discover the true breath of life. Nights have always enchanted me, they were my refuge for so long, with their silence, their absence, the feeling of belonging not to a place but to a moment in time. The fullness of simply being there, present, as shadows embrace the fragile cracks of light. The theme "Uniquely you" carries this meaning, a rhythm of daily life where I found beauty, where I lingered for so long, and which speaks profoundly of who I am. Refuge, comfort, belonging, and the sense of wholeness even amid many absences. And in this photo, I felt complete, a singularity revealed between myself and life, in the feeling that comforts me most: solitude. | Rebecca Doracio

This photo was taken last year during the Chinese New Year period, where I stumbled upon this monastery nearby where I live. As I explored the place, I started taking notice of this one elderly lady circling this large structure by herself as she recites her prayer and holds onto her incense. What drew me to this scene was how shooting through the plastic cover (used to shelter the place) helps blur the colours and detail of the structure behind her and silhouette the woman even more, which helps really translate the feeling of serene isolation I wanted to capture. To me, street photography has always been about having the sense to capture the scenes in the everyday that might've otherwise gone unnoticed, but the ability to further express the emotional depth within a particular moment on top of authenticity is what has led me to start adopting abstract elements in my photography. | a.da.md

During a night out I booked a solo trip to Berlin. I had never been on a plane or abroad on my own. My first night there was cold and I could not sleep so I decided to get my camera out and take some photos to pass the time. A car sped through a set of traffic lights and this is the image that was created. It gave me a sense of clarity within my life and the trip as a whole helped me move forward and moulded me.
This is probably the autumn scenery we’ll soon encounter. I didn’t particularly like autumn, but as I’ve accumulated memories of enjoying the scenery and spending time with people I cherish, I’ve grown to love it. I took this photo when I traveled alone to Hokkaido, and I felt a sense of "An Enchanted Realm," which inspired me to name it "Holgyeong (惚境)." I had quite a hard time dealing with a pesky insect called "Yukimushi," and since the scene wasn’t perfectly set up for the shoot, it might seem a bit chaotic. However, I believe it captures the stirring emotions I felt at the time, which is why I like this photo. | JIYEJI
