Present Absence This image was shot during winter at Versova beach at sunset. This frame freezes a fleeting paradox: a solitary silhouette, bathed in the sunset's crimson embrace, stands ankle-deep in the reflecting waves, phone aglow in hand, lost in digital reverie. What grips me is the exquisite irony, a man oblivious to such nature's symphony unfolding around him. Mumbai's beach sunsets are more than a beautiful spectacle; they are the city's soul laid bare, where one can experience profound serenity amid the chaos of skyscrapers and streetlife. This photograph isn't just a landscape; it serves a narrative about connection and disconnect. I keep returning to this image because it serves as a gentle, haunting reminder. It asks us to look up, to put down the phone, and to let ourselves be fully engulfed by the "magical beauty" that is often standing right in front of us. | Souvik Roy

This image was taken in my favourite haven of peace, nature and joy - Bushy Park in SW London, England. I've been there many, many times over the years and every time I visit it feels different : the light changes, the wildlife you see changes and the flora and fauna change too. This time in the evening there is my favourite. You feel the park slowing down, wildlife coming to rest as the light fades through daylight blues to beautiful oranges, yellows and reds. It's incredible that it's located in Greater London and all credit must go to The Royal Parks for all the work they do to make it a place of wonder. | Andy Craddock

Title: Is this a Phoenix? Story: How do we visualize a new start? For the 2026 Marina Bay Countdown, I stood at the Helix Bridge watching the sky erupt, but I chose to look for the life hidden within the light. This vertical poster, "Is this a Phoenix?", is a symmetrical re-imagining of that first midnight of 2026. By mirroring the vibrant rainbow fireworks and stacking the architectural icons of Singapore, a mythical silhouette emerged from the data. To some, it is the 'Sovereign Butterfly'—a regal symbol of grace and the quiet metamorphosis into a new and beautiful life. To others, it is a Phoenix rising, fueled by the explosive energy of the city’s celebration. I chose this title to invite the community to engage with the 'soul' of the image. Whether you see the delicate wings of a butterfly or the fiery ascent of a phoenix, the essence remains the same: a powerful, vertical rise into a new chapter. This piece marks the beginning of a year where we define our own rebirth, spreading our wings over the foundations of the past to soar into a vibrant 2026. | Victor Zhuo
